Leave of Absence Options

Your personal circumstances will dictate your leave eligibility type. Please review the options below for additional information.

Illness or injury of yourself or family member

Pay Continuation During Leave

Employees may be eligible to receive pay by applying for disability, using accrued vacation, sick, or personal time. Please reference the chart below to learn more about your options.

Paid Family Leave

Some states offer Paid Family Leave monetary benefits to individuals who need to take time off work to care for a seriously ill family member or to bond with a new child entering their life either by birth, adoption, or foster care placement. Below are the current states offering such programs:

Manage your paid time-off request while on a leave of absence.

If you plan to apply for short-term disability or state disability insurance, keep in mind that there is a one-week (7-day) unpaid benefit waiting period. If you have accrued paid time off that you would like to use, then you can use up to 40 hours for the first week missed from work. Additional accrued paid time off can be used during the remainder of your leave of absence. It is preferred that you request your paid time off through ADP, but if you are unable to, you may contact the Payroll Department at payroll@wescoair.com. Please, keep in mind that you cannot earn more than your regular wages while on disability. Therefore, you should only request to use accrued paid time off to supplement the difference that short term disability does not pay. While receiving paychecks, you can expect that all regular Health and Welfare deductions will continue through payroll.
