Stop 7: Can I keep My Doctor and Medications?

Your medical plans are changing. But does that mean that your doctor and/or medications are too?

Is My Doctor or Pharmacy in Cigna’s Network?

Visit Cigna Health Care Provider Directory and follow these steps:

  1. Under How Are You Covered, click on Employer or School
  2. Enter the location of your current provider
  3. Select if you want to search by doctor type, doctor name, or by facility
  4. Enter your search criteria
  5. Click on Continue as Guest
  6. Verify address and click Continue
  7. Choose one of Incora’s Medical plans
    1. For the Open Access Plus HDHP or the Open Access Plus PPO, select Open Access Plus
    2. For the EPO, select LocalPlus (CA and TX residents only)
  8. Review in-network providers based on the criteria you provided to see if your provider is in Cigna’s network

Note: Incora plans do not cover out-of-network pharmacies!

Is My Current Medication Covered?

To check if your current medications are covered under your Cigna medical plan, visit https://www.cigna.com/individuals-families/member-resources/prescription/ and access their Prescription Drug Lists.

All of Cigna’s covered medications are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Cigna National Preferred Prescription Drug List is updated often so it’s important to know that this is not a complete list of the medications your plan covers. Also, your specific plan may not cover all of the medications in this document. Be sure to call TouchCare or Cigna to learn more about your specific coverage.

Transferring a Mail Order Maintenance Medication

If you are currently receiving your maintenance medications by mail, you’ll need to transfer your mail service to Express Scripts Pharmacy.

Have your doctor send your prescription electronically to Express Scripts Home Delivery, NCPDP 2623735 or have your doctor call 1-888-327-9791 to get a Fax Order Form.

Checking if Your Specialty Medication Is Covered

If you are currently taking any Specialty medications for complex conditions (e.g., cancer, cystic fibrosis, immune deficiency, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis), be sure to contact Cigna’s specialty pharmacy, Accredo at 1-877-826-7657 to talk with an Accredo representative to learn about specialty medications coverage with Cigna.

  • Find out before you fill with the Price a Medication feature on www.mycigna.com (you can use this feature once your coverage is active and you’ve registered with Cigna and created your online account)
  • Patient Protections and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) requires the plan to cover certain preventive medications and products at 100%, or no cost-share ($0) to you. View PPACA No Cost-Share Preventive Medications to see if your medication is covered at no cost.

Is My Dental or Vision Provider in MetLife’s Network?

Visit www.metlife.com to find a participating dental and vision providers.

  • The dental network offered by Incora’s Dental PPO Base and Dental PPO Buy Up plans is called “PDP Plus” network.
  • The dental network offered under the CA and TX DHMO plan is called “Dental HMO/Managed Care. If you are looking up a Dental HMO/Managed Care dentist, you will be prompted to select your plan from the drop-down menu. Select “MET185” for Incora’s DHMO plan.
  • The vision network offered by Incora’s Vision Base and Buy Up plans is called “MetLife Vision PPO”

What If I Am in the Middle of a Treatment or Have a Surgery Approved for Early January? (Transition of Care)

If your current provider is outside of your new Cigna plan network and if you have certain medical conditions, Transition or Continuity of Care may allow you to see your previous provider for a defined amount of time.

Note: In the event you have a surgery or procedure planned that requires a pre-authorization under the Cigna plan, then you must request the pre-authorization from Cigna.

What if I am in the Middle of Orthodontia Treatment?

If you are currently in active orthodontic, endodontic or prosthodontic treatment that is expected to continue into 2021, contact TouchCare or MetLife to discuss your specific situation. You will need to complete a Request Form to transition ortho under Incora’s DHMO. 

If you are enrolling in Incora’s DPPO Buy-Up, MetLife might already have your ortho history. MetLife will work with your dental provider to obtain any history of the ortho work completed prior to January 1, 2021.

Note: Orthodontia is covered under the Incora Dental Buy Up PPO and Dental HMO (available in CA and TX only), but there is no Ortho coverage under the Incora Base PPO. Review benefit summaries carefully before you enroll.
